Student Placement
Student placement will be based on previous school records, performance on the K¹² placement test, and a conference between a teacher and parent or guardian.
The placement process works as follows:
- Upon receiving an enrollment application, the school-based enrollment coordinator assigns an enrollment counselor to complete the placement process with the parents or guardians.
- Students are placed as close to grade level as possible and in age-appropriate coursework. The placement tests and previous school records are reviewed to determine if students may require placement out of grade level. Parents of students requiring out of grade level placement are also counseled for possible intervention services.
- Students are provided pacing guides to ensure completion of core courses within the school year. If a student completes a course prior to April 1, the next course will be provided to the student.
